Company description

S&C Electric Canada specializes in high-voltage switching and
protection products for the power industry. Founders of the S&C
Electric Company invented the Liquid Power Fuse in 1909 that
helped pioneer the widespread adoption of outdoor distribution
substations.

Today, S&C has a broad product line focused on high-voltage
switching and protection. This specialization has enabled S&C to
attain unparalleled skills in research and development, testing,
and manufacturing in a technically complex field. S&C has
invented many innovative products and pioneered new applications
in the power industry. SMD® Power Fuses, Loadbuster®, Circuit
Switcher, Pad-Mounted Gear, VISTA® SF6 insulated switchgear,
Fault Fiter® Electronic Power Fuses, and Scada-Mate Switching
systems are just a few of the S&C products that have
significantly changed power system design and operating
practices.

S&C products are used in electric power transmission,
distribution and service entrance applications at voltages
from 4 KV to 230 KV.

Product Name: CIRCUIT-SWITCHER

S&C Circuit-Switchers are transmission-voltage switching and
protection devices that are similar to a breaker. They are ideal
for switching and protecting of transformers, capacitor-banks,
reactors, overhead lines and cables. Circuit-Switchers are
suitable for frequent operation over a long period of time with
minimal maintenance. They can close, carry and interrupt fault
currents as well as load currents. They are available in voltage
ratings from 34.5 to 230 kv, with continuous-current ratings of
1200, 1600 and 2000 amperes.
