The Firm of John S. Pope & Associates Limited, has been serving
Cape Breton Island since 1953 as consultants for Cadastral, Topographic and Construction Surveys. During the 49 years of service to our Island, we have been involved in such major projects as: The Nova Scotia Forest Industries Pulp Mill at Point Tupper, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited Plant at Glace Bay, Canadian Coast Guard College at Point Edward, The Cape Breton regional Hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia Power Corporation easement acquisitions, Land Clarification Titles area for Novas Scotia Department of Lands & Forest, North Sydney Terminal for C.B. Marine, the mapping of Approximately 15,000 land parcels as a consultant for the Maritime Council of Microware Tower Sites at Fibre optic Cable Easements for Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Ltd., CNR Right- of-Way Survey, Energy, Mines & Resources, Defence Construction (1951) Ltd., topographic Survey and construction layout for various Hotels and Office Buildings in the Sydney Area. In addition to the above work, during the past 10 years as a CLS, we have carried out numerous surveys for Legal Survey Division, Ottawa, namely, retracement of several Indian Reserve Boundaries, as well as work within these Reservations. In addition to the above and many other special projects, our Firm has faithfully served the general public in sub-division layout and design, and thousands of privately held individual property surveys. The staff at our office is led by two Nova Scotia Land Surveyors and is headed by John S. Pope, Canada Land Surveyor, and Nova Scotia Land Surveyor, the founding principal. |
