NIAGARA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION WHO WE ARE Niagara Economic Development is a non-profit organization with a mandate to carry out activities necessary to advance the economic prosperity of the Niagara region. Funded by the Regional Municipality of Niagara, the corporation partners in many projects with the private sector, other government offices, and agencies. Policy is guided by a Board of Directors whose membership is drawn from the industrial, commercial, tourism, educational and government sectors of Niagara. NIAGARA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT'S MISSION STATEMENT Niagara Economic Development as the recognized authority, is in the business of providing cost effective innovative service that attracts investment and visitation, delivers economic development information to our customers and facilitates decision-making among our partners in a bi-national region. Niagara Economic Development works in close co-operation with other local, provincial and federal economic development organizations to make progress in achieving the above objectives. WHAT WE DO In working to meet our objectives, staff provides a range of services, including: - Site Selection Assistance for business clients expanding in or relocating to the Niagara region - Statistical and market data on Niagara's economy including industrial land and building information, economic indicators, manufacturing/service business contacts, and human resource/training support - Promotional programs to attract new business, tourism and investment, including advertising, newsletters, trade shows and travel to target markets - Consultation and referral to appropriate local businesses, government officials and other sources for further assistance - Business assistance program information and support for Niagara companies who are developing new export markets.
