Remote emission sensing device. |
Sciencetech has studied the development of an instrument which will remotely monitor exhaust emissions from moving vehicles. An assessment of available technologies for remote measurement of trace gases, and of smoke opacity, was carried out. Typical exhaust emission levels from in-use vehicles were analysed based on current and future emission regulations. A conceptual design was developed for an instrument which can observe the exhaust plumes of passing vehicles form the roadside and assess the emission levels of specific pollutants. The prototype instrument is capable of detecting carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulates (diesel smoke, measured as optical opacity). |

Our high talented team of scientists and engineers possess the
diverse capabilities required to design instruments specific to customer requirements by using a unique "Optical Building Block" concept. Sciencetech use a variety of components, including monochromators, light sources, power supplies, detector, and accessories, to produce a wide variety of spectroscopic systems. This concept allows the arrangement of components in configurations that best fit customer needs for particular experimental requirements. We also modify any equipment and design any unique optical and electronics required to best meet those needs. Sciencetech also produces an excellent line of off- the-self instruments. |
