Ultra Electronics Maritime Systems Inc. is a division of Ultra Electronics Canada Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Ultra Electronics Holdings UK plc. Formerly known as Hermes Electronics; Maritime Systems has earned a reputation as a world leader in the development and manufacture of advanced systems for critical applications in extreme environments.
Established in 1947, Maritime Systems is a world leader in naval sonar and antisubmarine sensors, towed torpedo defence systems, and on board degaussing systems for both warships and submarines. Ultra’s wireless Magneto Inductive signaling system is a unique Canadian invention and is employed by Special Operations personnel when communication is required through difficult subterranean environments. The technology has applicability to through ice communication is support of Canadian Arctic sovereignty. Ultra Electronics Maritime Systems is Canada’s centre of excellence for sonobuoy, submarine communications, and military towed array development. In addition to supporting Canadian Navy's traditional sonar requirements, Maritime Systems has developed active-passive and directional systems for use in complex anitsubmarine and torpedo defence warfare roles. Ultra Electronics Maritime Systems continues to evolve and integrate next generation sensors and information management systems for military, public safety, and emergency response. This effort includes integration of a wide array of multi-influence sensors into our Infrastructure Optimization Protection applications as well as the use of intuitive and highly developed incident management solutions. |
