Conference Coordination/Facilitation/Meeting Recording/Report
In November of 1998, Hunter-Courchene was created to provide products and services for all types of meetings and conferences from start to finish including Facilitation Services. Since our inception, Hunter-Courchene has gained practical experience implementing diverse facilitation tools to a broad range of clients.
Hunter-Courchene has facilitated workshops and conferences for the Assembly of First Nations, the National Aboriginal Health Organization, the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Health Canada, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the National Association of Friendship Centres and the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.
Working with our clients, we are able to identify, develop and implement facilitation tools that will meet your workshop or conference goals. Our facilitation services include:
Establishing an appropriate working agenda for the meeting leading to a final meeting program;
Establishing an appropriate facilitated process that will achieve the expected outcomes of the meeting;
Providing logistical assistance to Conference Masters of Ceremonies so that they can concentrate on the required stage duties;
Debriefing with client at end of each day to ensure facilitated process is achieving the expected outcomes.
The process tools used are selected and finalized with you and are intended to be flexible enough to allow a group to work in an environment that is conducive to meeting your goals
Meeting and Event Coordination
Hunter-Courchene Consulting Group has a contingent of available personnel for all of your event coordination needs. Our systems for event planning ensure that all details are handled quickly and efficiently. Our well-organized and detail-oriented coordinators have the creativity and initiative to stage any event successfully. The expertise available within our company to plan your event include:
Agenda planning and workshop coordination/facilitation;
Budget development and expenditure tracking;
Extensive experience in completing logistical arrangements for meetings from 10 to 2000 people;
Canada-wide contacts within the hospitality field, including isolated locations and Aboriginal communities;
Extensive contacts within Aboriginal companies, organizations and communities to supply resource people as required such as Elders and other traditional resource people, special guests and speakers, knowledgeable workshop facilitators, lively entertainment, etc;
Experience in coordinating social events for your conference or meeting;
Extensive contacts with various supply companies;
Development of sponsorship packages to be distributed to potential sponsors, including proposed levels/methods of sponsorship;
Development and execution of a media strategy in partnership with the client;
Ability to plan and coordinate successful events under tight time lines;
Pool of support personnel available to staff an event of any size;
Development of an evaluation tool to measure the success of your event; and,
Ability to record, draft and finalize a conference or meeting report for publication.
Following the successful coordination of your event, Hunter-Courchene prepares a comprehensive Coordinator’s Activity Report, including supporting documentation. The Coordinator’s Report provides the client with quick and easy reference to all aspects of the meeting/conference.
Meeting Support Services (Minutes, notes and reports)
Hunter-Courchene has the human resources to assist you in fulfilling your administrative and logistical requirements for all types of meetings and conferences. Our staff are dedicated, hard working, innovative, resourceful and capable of providing a variety of products and services across Canada.
Having gained experience working in a variety of capacities at many types of meetings and conferences, Hunter-Courchene has developed and adopted a process that allows us to understand and meet the diverse needs of our clients. The collaborative process allows us to capture and modify your meeting requirements as they may continually evolve. This gives us the opportunity to work with our clients to improve our products and services and ensure they consistently meet our clients’ needs. Project Management and Evaluations
Hunter-Courchene has built a solid reputation and has extensive experience in the management of all types of projects. Our experience includes the management of local, regional and national initiatives that have had varying clientele. We have worked with Aboriginal organizations within the urban centres of Canada and with First Nations within their home communities.
The key to all of our managed projects has been an emphasis on expenditure tracking; developing and implementing efficient administrative systems; and, consistent communication, ensuring that the project administrators and their clients understand the project goals and deliverables and that there exists clear communication channels between the two parties. Our goal is to exceed the deliverables and outcomes for each project and to determine the level of success through an evaluation process.
Hunter-Courchene has established a network of professional associates that have worked with us on a number of evaluation projects. Our success has been based on our ability to develop evaluation methodologies that can meet the evaluation goals based on the duration and budget of the evaluation. Our goal is to create an evaluation team that can work with the client and strive to understand the outcomes of any initiative and how it can be continually improved.
Our services also include the development of evaluative tools within an initiative that will allow the client to conduct internal and periodic measures of success on their own. These tools also serve to inform future formal evaluations.

Our goal when working on research initiatives is to: work with our clients to articulate the research questions; conduct the research through various rigorous research methods; provide an in-depth analysis of the findings; and, develop a final product that is suitable to each client, including research reports; issue analysis papers; advocacy papers; etc.
Hunter-Courchene also recognizes the importance of being able to articulate research findings in a manner that is easily understood and useful to the client. We will also work with our clients to develop strategies and action plans allowing the client to be proactive in addressing any issues relating to the findings.
