One of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies chose Scimega Research as their partner in Canada for a Phase II international oncology clinical trial.

The Problem
The trial was conducted in three European countries as well as Canada. During the course of the recruitment period, it became evident that the European investigative teams would not be able to meet their targets for patient recruitment.

The Solution
To prevent further recruitment delays and associated rising costs, Canada’s recruitment target was increased. Together, the Canadian investigative teams met 161% of their Canadian patient quota, accounting for 61% of all the patients who took part in the international study.

The Results
With one of the Canadian sites earning top recruiter status for the entire clinical trial study, Scimega exceeded the sponsor's expectations in more areas than just the volume of data monitored. Whereas European sites delivered an average query rate of 15.57%, Scimega’s query rate was only 9.8%.

Considering the costs associated with correcting a query, Scimega saved the client close to $80,000 based solely on their low query rate compared to Europe. But they also provided data to the client faster so they could make key decisions as soon as possible.

78% of Scimega's queries were returned to the sponsor within 24 hours. An additional 17% followed within 3 days and the rest were delivered within 5 days. Having established a query return target of 42 days at the outset of the study, the client was understandably pleased.
