Optical Character Recognition & Verification Systems (OCR / OCV Systems)
Our VisionGauge® OnLine Optical Character Recognition Systems / Optical Character Verification Systems for industrial applications are able to automatically locate and read text. They can also verify that the text matches the expected character string, compute results statistics, export & exchange the results, produce reports, etc...
These Optical Character Recognition and Verification systems include adapted, low distortion optics and programmable, computer-controlled illumination, for maximum repeatability of results. They also include the entire VisionGauge® OnLine toolset. All of VisionGauge® OnLine's image processing and analysis tools are thus available to automatically "cleanup" the image before carrying out the character recognition operation. This can dramatically improve results in the cases where there is contamination, background noise, etc...
VisionGauge® OnLine's automated OCR / OCV tool is very robust in the presence of print defects and includes an advanced, proprietary "character splitting" algorithm to deal with print imperfections, smears and other defects. VisionGauge® OnLine's OCR / OCV tool is "user-trainable" and supports user-supplied character & symbol libraries.

VisionGauge® OnLine LASER Profiling Systems for Fast and Accurate Thickness Measurements
VisionGauge® OnLine LASER profiling systems are complete hardware & software solution for fast, easy and accurate 3D measurements. Theses systems use fully-automated LASER profiling to carry out thickness measurements. With VisionGauge® OnLine LASER profiling measurement tools, Z-axis measurements can typically be carried out as quickly as regular (X,Y) measurements.
VisionGauge® OnLine LASER profiling systems have no a priori restrictions regarding the part geometry and they can deal with a wide range of 3D geometries.
(LASER Profiling involves projecting one or multiple LASER lines at a specified angle relative to the optical centerline. You can then carry out height / depth measurements (i.e. 3D measurements) by measuring the offset of the projections on a (2D) image.)
VisionGauge Digital Optical Comparators / Profile Projectors
VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparator systems (also known as Profile Projectors, Video Comparators, or Contour Projectors) allow you to quickly, easily and very accurately compare a part with its CAD drawing.
And while traditional optical comparators require an overlay (i.e. a template or transparency), with the VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparator everything is done electronically so that there are no more templates! The VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparator works directly with the CAD DXF file data.
These very easy-to-use systems include a high-resolution Megapixel digital camera and a low-distortion, wide field-of-view telecentric lens and produce a very high-resolution, undistorted digital image with a large depth of field.
VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparators also include our powerful and easy-to-use VisionGauge® OnLine software. VisionGauge® OnLine projects the video images from the camera, along with the part’s CAD overlay, in real-time, on a large quad-monitor display. This allows you to view the system’s crisp & clear images in full resolution and to make out very fine details.
The VisionGauge® OnLine software scales the CAD drawing very accurately to match the system’s optical magnification. This is all done completely automatically, in real-time, and requires absolutely no operator intervention.
The operator can use an external 3-speed joystick to align the CAD drawing with the part (for both rotation and X,Y position). This is a very fast and intuitive way to align the part and its CAD drawing. An on-screen joystick is also available.
With our VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparator systems you can see, right away, if a part matches its CAD definition. There is no setup or calibration time when you want to inspect and measure a new part.
Our VisionGauge® Digital Optical Comparator systems also provide all of the benefits of having a digital image of the part, with its superimposed CAD drawing.
