Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews
The Pre-Start Health and Safety Review is intended to ensure worker protection as required under the applicable provisions of the Ontario Regulation for Industrial Establishments. The intent of section 7 of the Regulation for Industrial Establishments is to ensure that a timely professional review identifies specific hazards, or hazards associated with exposure to chemicals and other designated substances, in certain
circumstances. Section 7 is intended to ensure that such hazards are removed or controlled before the apparatus or process is started up. Except for certain circumstances that involve occupational chemical exposure, the PHSR must be undertaken by a Professional Engineer.
