Success stories:
"Tara NyceShuswap/Okanagan Nation
I am a proud Native woman from the Ts'kwaylaxw First Nations. I am A freelance makeup artist and hairstylist,
moving back to my roots in the Okanagan. I feel the need to help all walks of life, trying to find my true identity in
this world. I am a proud entrepreneur of a small home-based business. I come from a very political family. My
First Nations heritage is my wealth!
Dj Kwe is one of those beings that touch you from the inside out. Her words are so captivating, you just want to
stand tall for her and applaud all her accomplishments! The struggles and hardships that she has overcome and
also the strength she manages to find within herself to keep moving forward!
Her voice speaks for many, those who can’t find the words or strength to do it. She teaches the power of not
letting anyone break you. She gave me strength to know that even though we suffer great tragedies it doesn’t
mean your dreams can’t come true. That there are others willing to help, programs that enable you to strive.
I was able to witness her God given talent....creating music...DJ'ing.....WOW. You have to really be there to
experience it. I love her collaboration of the traditional drums, she has conquered a new sound. It makes me
proud to see an Aboriginal woman succeed in an area of work that is dominated by males. She really knows
how to keep the energy of the crowd. i say it loud and proud...DJ KWE ROCKS!
Being the observer I am I sat back and watched her mingle among the audience, taking her time to meet and
greet everyone who approached her. She really was a very open-armed woman by taking the time to chat with
everyone. Her presence was known.
I admire her for her voice, her talent, and her strength. She gave me a sense of realism, her story moved and
inspired me to believe that no matter what you go through or the challenges we face, there is always room in
your life for change, positive change. That you should surround yourself with positive energy, not living a life of
destruction, and knowing that life will throw curve balls. But its YOU, and only YOU, that can make your life
better and to take care of yourself, because no one else can do it for you. She will forever be in my thoughts,
because of the very powerful presence she carries!
Her life is the true element of true survival, beating the odds. Reminding us that NOTHING is ever impossible!
You just have to believe in your dreams, and yourself!
I felt like watching her tell her story I actually lived through her for that brief moment, and as I was leaving, just
the energy she gave off I FELT AS THOUGH I COULD MOVE MOUNTAINS AND CONQURE THE UNKNOWN,
AND THAT I AM NOT ALONE!
I believe that the emotions I felt came from the opportunity to experience positivity because of Dj Kwe's story was
truly a gift. One that I will carry with me for a very long time. She is a very powerful motivational speaker
because of the simple fact that she actually understands and had gone through what so many of us have suffer
from. I will end this by saying you cannot hear her story and not feel the strength and power that her Being
exudes!
it was an honor to have met you DJ Kwe, i look forward to seeing your career take right off....
All my relations...."

Testimonial:
"I have always held the belief that there are a small handful of people in this world that can have such a profound impact in one's life, that it changes them forever. To me, one of those people is Crystal Favel. To know her, is to love her and respect her. Her kindness, generousity, and honesty knows no bounds. Crystal carries herself in a dignified manner wherever she goes. Her confidence, compassion, and integrity exudes her entire personality. She is truly an amazing person and any person who comes in her presence will realize that. This letter does no justice to what a truly remarkable individual she is."Zaki Ameen
“You will overcome the odds and shine.” Crystal Favel is an inspiring individual who embraces all aspects of her being, past present and future. “I knew he saw the Great Spirit inside me.” She does not simply survive she thrives. She thrives on the teachings of others, the ability to cross a wide range of mediums and on the ability to pass her teachings and creations to others. "It was the foresight of my ancestors and I was very proud to wear this skin of honour.” Sometimes, our paths cross like a lightning bolt in the night sky. Each time Crystal crosses my path on our separate journeys, she strikes me with her poise, ambition, and passion to both honour her ancestors and do something meaningful. Her music, writing and persistence inspires and heals."

Elementary School Teacher (Waterhen Reserve)
"I believe that your humble visit has opened a door in our community. A door that I hope all of us who love house music can pass through and find the positivity and the essence of house on the other side. Thank you for the sacrifices and your efforts. You rocked!” You are one of my BIGGEST inspirations! I admire your attitude towards life and crave to hear your many words of wisdom. Your original tracks are certainly one-of-a-kind, I am thoroughly impressed. I must say that you have made a HUGE impact on the world through your positivity. Keep up the outstanding work and keep blazin' those trails."

"Crystal was integrally involved in the Sky Stories project, developing original work for almost the entire length of the thirty minute production. Her compositions are beautifully layered, integrating original and innovative sounds with the songs and voices of the most ancient histories of Aboriginal peoples. Crystal approached the project with tremendous dedication and worked collaboratively to bring her rich artistic talents to the project. Through her integrity and focus she bridged many worlds, collaborating with artists of many nations, to bring forth an honest and rich art which captivates and confirms the spirit of the production."

"I was inspired by the story of one particular presenter by the name of Crystal Favel a.k.a DJ KWE. I quickly knew after hearing her story that she was like me and I should approach her to let her know that she has inspired me and given me the hope that an underclass person from the reserve like myself could make it in the business world. She has also taught me to never give up during hard times. I look forward to always calling Crystal my business mentor and look up to her as an elder. Crystal has got what it takes and is a powerful leader who has guided me onto the path of leadership. I am now a successful pow wow singer, future business owner, accounts payable clerk, and youth leader lighting the path of the “red road” for future youth aboriginal leaders."

"The result is a sexy, club orientated dance track that is oddly tranquil at the same time. If both were to continue exploring this music direction, their sound would fit niecely in the club, world and adult contemporary music scenes."
