over 3 decades ago, POS specializes in extraction,
fractionation, purification and modification of bio-based
materials and offers multi-scale processing capacity from grams

6 large pilot plant processing areas and eleven laboratories
provide an enormous variety of multi-scale processing equipment
and systems designed to maximize value to our clients for
contract research and custom processing.

PILOT PLANT
The pilot plant area totals 25,000 sq. ft. and is divided into
six dedicated processing areas.

OILS PROCESSING AREA: contains equipment used to degum, refine,
wash, bleach, esterify and deodorize edible fats and oils.
FLAMMABLE PROCESSING AREAS (3): contains equipment for solvent
extraction, desolventization and hydrogenation.
SECONDARY PROCESSING AREA: contains equipment used to further
process botanicals, cereal grains, oilseed meals, and other
materials. It also contains equipment for a variety of drying
operations and aqueous extractions.
PRIMARY PROCESSING AREA: contains equipment used to prepare
seeds and other raw materials for further processing.

LABORATORIES
Laboratory Services is responsible for lab-scale processing R&D,
lab and pilot-scale project analyses, and external fee-for-
service analytical work. They are experts both in bench-scale
processing and in scaling up from the laboratory to commercial
scale. Laboratory Services provides clients with specialized lab-
scale capabilities in the areas of fats and oils, proteins, food
processing, food product development, cereals and starches,
nutraceuticals, analytical services, purification and
isolation.

clients with specialized capabilities in the areas of fats and
