DEW has been designing and manufacturing advanced composite armour systems since 1994. Utilizing its in-house ballistic range and extensive array of small and medium caliber ammunition, our R&D team is able to rapidly design our next generation armour solutions to optimize protection, cost and weight to counter emerging ballistic, mine and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threats. Working with OEMs, DEW specializes in providing add-on kits or integrated solutions and has done so for Canadian, American and New Zealand Armed Forces programs, including Stryker and MRAP.

DEW refurbishes, upgrades and reconfigures military vehicles and shelters to as-new condition, often modernizing existing capabilities, thereby extending the lifespan of equipment. Examples include the AVGP fleet, the MTV family of vehicles and the Bison Re-Role program.

DEW has played a role in most major Canadian Defence truck and shelter programs over the last two decades. They design, integrate and install kits converting bare shelters or vehicle chassis to a finished state, fully functional for military or security forces. DEW collaborates with OEMs, both in Canada and abroad, providing the Canadian value added services needed to win Canadian programs.
