Produit / Service / Licence

Nom du service : Consulting

With any orgainization heavily involved in research and education for over 30 years, the CIC engages in a variety of purpose-driven consulting with government, investors and coporations as well as inventors.

Nom du service : Innovation Assessment

While technological issues drive the desirability of the product, other issues of the business – historical and competitive in nature influence adoption and profitability. By examining these multiple issues upfront, the prudent innovator can decide what the best way to monetize the venture is and whether requisite factors are favourable to proceed.
The Critical Factors Assessment (CFA) is the flagship product of the Centre, having been used to evaluate over 20,000 innovations with high validity. This predictive power is made possible by the proprietary, peer-reviewed tool covering 40 factors, key to any commercialization endeavour which is supported by extensive library of cases and secondary research.
These factors are rated from low to high risk and clear guidance for the next steps are included in the detailed written reports,

Oftentimes a technological innovation lends itself to multiple fields which in turn leads to other market opportunities. Entrepreneurs who are able to develop two or more businesses are more likely to succeed by the virtues of flexible cash flow, synergized learning curve and diversification of risk. In addition, having an income stream early on can supplement the cash need of a larger, more ambitious venture and help to preserve the equity stake of the entrepreneur.
For those interested in exploring these opportunities, the Centre offers an expanded version of the Critical Factors Assessment - the Multiple Market Assessment (MMA). The MMA consists of both primary and secondary research along with an in-house review and covers technological, business, historical and competitive issues.

Nom du service : Market Research

Key to an innovation's successful entry and positioning in the market place, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the market space. This includes technological, business, historical and competitive issues necessary for market entrey decisions.

Nom du service : Market Validation

Driven by primary research of the users and influencers (trade associations and regulators) along with an in-house review, the Market Validation shifts the entrepreneur focus to what is practical and incorporates customer voice into the solution. A written report clarifies the issues of value proposition and adoption rate. It simultaneously provides insight with a To-Do list taking the particular client's technology situation and business experience into account.
Market Validation is also invaluable in providing stakeholders with an objective common framework for discussing milestone financing, monitoring progress and focusing activities of the enterprise getting to market.

Nom du service : Technology Development Diligence

Once first customers have been identified and the value proposition for them laid out, the next step is to confirm that the feature set being built in to the product or service are truly relevant for the customer. Not only would this reduce avoidable headaches and delay in the final development phase, but it would also clarify the ROI for customers and allow for compression of the selling cycle.
Ideal for both an existing or new company starting its development work, the Technology Market Alignment (TMA) examines the unmet needs of the customer – functions product and services currently available lack; the TMA investigates interoperability requirements and, business challenges en route to market as well as competitor strengths and weaknesses. The result is a set of robust recommendations on how to align development and business efforts to satisfy customer demand.

Nom du service : Training and Education

Since 1975 the CIC has been involved with a number of events, conferences, workshops, curriculum devekopment and intern programs. We continue to be involved at the inventor, entrepreneur, investor, government staff and graduate levels. Monthly webinars are offered and the free online Canadian Innovation Assistor (CIA) -Ask the Expert offers advice and help while the Inovator's Assistance Program (IAP) hands-on consulting service offers low cost consultation to entrepreneurs and SME's.
