Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is a proven methodology that addresses EDI’s need to significantly improve its product design & development process.

CCPM is a method of planning and managing projects that puts the main emphasis on the resources required to execute project tasks. It was developed by Eliyahu M. Goldratt in 1995 as an element of his Theory of Constraints. This is in contrast to the more traditional Critical Path and PERT methods, which emphasize task order and rigid scheduling. A Critical Chain project network will tend to keep the resources levelly loaded, but will require them to be flexible in their start times and to quickly switch between tasks and task chains to keep the whole project on schedule.

This is a 2-day course that will enable trainees to use Ford Motor Company's G8D (Global 8 Disciplines) methodology to understand problems and their causes, develop and implement innovative, permanent solutions, recognize when to seek help in their own jobs, and to realize their role in supporting or giving input to the people or departments in charge of implementing solutions.

Ford Motor Company developed the 8D process in the late 1950's to provide itself and its suppliers with an effective, disciplined methodology to get to the root cause of problems and solve them permanently. The 8D process went through several iterations over several decades, including “TOPS” or “Team Oriented Problem Solving”. In the late 1990's, Ford developed a revised version of the 8D process, officially titled "Global 8D" (G8D) which is the current global standard for Ford and many other companies in the automotive supply chain.

The G8D methodology can be used for solving customer complaints, internal problems, and for continuous improvement efforts.
