Pulse Canada
Formed in 1997, Pulse Canada is a Winnipeg-based industry association that represents Canadian growers, processors and traders of pulse crops – peas, lentils, beans and sunflowers. As a small company with member organizations scattered across the country, Pulse struggled with accounting controls and cheque releases.

Challenges:
Since Pulse’s authorized signatories resided out of province cheques had to be mailed back and forth and were often delayed, misplaced or lost. To mitigate the logistic problems, Pulse implemented a single signatory policy but its auditors insisted on two signatories, so the problem had the potential of compounding. Member and vendor services were suffering, and the company was expending a great deal of effort, time and money in manually mailing, tracking, reconciling and, in extreme cases, – replacing cheques.

Solution:
After implementing Telpay for Business, Pulse Canada was able to replace their inefficient process with a few clicks of a mouse. Since bill payments are pre-authorized and electronically transferred, transactions are instantly processed and tracked. Integrating Telpay into Pulse’s existing Accpac ERP software was fast and effortless, and two authorizations were incorporated electronically without incurring any time or logistic penalties.

Results:
With bill payments taking minutes rather than days or even weeks, Pulse Canada immediately realized improved controls and considerable cost and time-savings. Member and vendor services improved as did employee satisfaction, especially in the accounting department. Pulse Canada now uses Telpay to process 96% of their payables and is free to focus on providing outstanding member service.

“Our business has benefited greatly by using Telpay. We are a small company and as the accountant I’m responsible for assembling cheques and reconciling accounts. We are now able to have two signatures on our cheques easily and payments are processed in a timely manner because we no longer have to wait for multiple signatures. I think Telpay for Business is the best bill payment option available for business, I would recommend it to anyone.”

Témoignage :

“I’m not always in the office and it’s tough to sign a cheque when I’m away. With Telpay I can process payments from anywhere in the world. The entire process keeps working even though I’m not in the office, which is important because sometimes the bills won’t wait. Paper doesn’t flow as nicely as electrons do! I really don’t see an alternative to Telpay – the banks are too expensive, so Telpay is the only choice as far as I’m concerned.”
