Description de l'entreprise
|
Victoria Ballet Academy offers secondary school education combined with professional choreographic training of ballet dancers. The education process takes up to eight years and leads to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, alongside with the Diploma of a Ballet Dancer. The school accepts gifted students through audition only. Evening and week-end classes of ballet, jazz, character and modern dance are offered to those who are at least 4 years old.
The Academy has a clear concept of the educational program. All subjects have one goal: to bring up and educate people that can easily be adopted by any society and country. Our students must be well prepared to enter Universities of United States, Europe and Canada. This is why we offer all necessary disciplines. The academy offers the choreographic curriculum based on the standards set by the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, in St. Petersburg, Russia. The professional education is conducted according to the Vaganova method of teaching. This method has been probated in a course of decades and generations of ballet dancers. It gave the way of fame to the brightest stars of the ballet -Pavlova, Nezhinski, Ulanova, Nureyev, Baryshnikov, Asylmuratova, Vishneva, Lopatkina and others. This system of teaching is based both on the vast experience of famous Russian teachers and foreign professionals who came to Russian at the end of the 19th century: Cecchetti and others. The great Agrippina Vaganova systemized the experience and created a new method of teaching that greatly influenced the shape of the modern ballet. The method will produce further outstanding dancers. The character dance is another discipline at the academy, as well as the heritage dances (called the historic dance). The character dance includes Spanish, Gypsy, Russian, Ukrainian, Eastern, Polish and others, stylized for the theatre stage. The heritage dances include those danced a royal courts of medieval and renaissance times. They are taught from the first years of study. Some special subjects - art of acting, duet and others - are taught starting at later grades. Once the students have completed grade 12, the graduates will have several options. Those who decide to pursue their career as ballet dancers will be able to work for well-established theatres and ballet companies. Others may choose to go to universities and work for theatre or movies in their free time. |
