Description de l'entreprise
Bastion Security provides innovative, effective and efficient Services and Products to clients that are both in the Security Industry or the end-user and whose chief concern is results.
Objective: To provide effective protection to clients with assets operating in high-risk situations and/or remote locations globally. Effective protection is achieved by efficiently using methods and resources which directly, or indirectly; o maintain the structural integrity of the threatened asset; o allow the normal operations of the client (and the assets it owns and/or controls) to continue with minimal disruptions due to security concerns; o minimize loss of net worth, and o allow the client and its assets to meet their objectives in a timely manner. The key to providing effective protection is to identify, assess and predict the various threats and their targets in advance of an attack in the probable, possible and emergency response scenarios which can be expected to occur over the lifetime of the client's presence in high-risk situations and remote sites. Only then can the required resources and methods be identified, prepared and deployed where required, when required. Core Competencies To ensure the highest quality of service to its clients, Bastion Security is structured to operate within high-risk situations (includes conflict and post-conflict zones) and remote sites and has focused its talents on the following security elements; o Security Operation Management; o Asset Protection, including any combination of the following asset types; + Fixed Assets; + Portable Assets; + Human Assets, and + Intellectual Assets. o Security Intelligence; o Consulting; o Training, and o Security Operation Service Support. Bastion Security takes a low-profile, modular and scalable approach to high-risk security. The underlying concept of all products and services provided is that they need to adapt to the most probable, possible and emergency response scenarios which have been identified, assessed and predicted over the life of the security task. They must be flexible enough to quickly respond, and adapt, to a changing situation as well as those which elements which have not been identified, assessed, or predicted. Most importantly, security measures should not draw attention to the client from threats which are seeking targets. Security Services High-Risk security has the potential to be very resource-intensive, in terms of personnel, equipment and time, if not approached in a modular and scalable manner. Effective security does not necessarily need to be expensive, but it needs to be innovative, well thought out, planned in advance, and executed effectively to be cost efficient. The structure of the Security Team deployed will be based on the protection requirements of those critical assets identified by the client, security, as well as the various threats to the client, and is flexible enough to accommodate operations of any size, scale, and scope under one command structure fully supported by the Regional Centre responsible for that operation. The modular and scalable approach allows the insertion of additional security elements when they are required as the threat level, or the scale of the client operations, increases beyond the current ability of the security teams to provide effective protection. If this increase is temporary, the added elements can be removed once the threat level, or the scale returns to “normal” (the state that existed prior to the increase). This modular and scalable approach provides a very cost and resource efficient method of providing effective protection in the present and future. Security Products In conjunction with Glacis Technologies and the Business Intelligence arm of the Fortress Group of Companies, Bastion Security can provide the following products for distribution, or to enhance your existing security measures; o Ballistic Armour Kits; o Communications Kits; o Direct Support Kits, and o Security Intelligence reports. Experience / Opportunities Threats within high-risk / conflict zones are generally of a higher calibre and may be prepared to pay a higher price to achieve success. That price may include personal injury to themselves, their Target, the Security Teams which separate the two, as well as innocent bystanders. Hi-Risk or Remote-Site security needs to be well planned, well executed and demands personnel which have the training, experience and mental capacity to allow them to formulate plans which minimize the interaction between the Threat and the Target. Most importantly, they must have the thought process and training which allows them to react quickly and properly to a Threat that does manifest itself. Personnel deployed on security operations are selected from the Security Roster according to the client's requirements, employed on a contract basis, and trained as a team prior to deployment to ensure team cohesion and high standards are maintained. The necessary knowledge, skill and experience required to perform each task will vary according to the specifics of the mission and personnel are matched and trained for the probable, possible and emergency response tasks to be performed over the expected life of the deployment. A premium is placed on personnel with international experience, primarily military with at least one deployment with a UN, or NATO, peacekeeping operation, or a multi-national Humanitarian Assistance / Disaster Relief mission. |

Ballistic Armour Kits |
Bastion Security armour kits are designed and manufactured to provide protection against ballistic threats. These threats are usually caused by explosives (shrapnel), or high-velocity projectiles (bullets). The portable and temporary nature of these kits makes them ideal for organizations which do not require ballistic protection of their assets permanently (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), or rent/lease equipment, vehicles, and structures (fixed or portable) and thus are not able to apply permanent armour to these asset types, but still need their contents protected from ballistic threats. The portable nature allows the armour to be stored and transported by personnel, or vehicle, with ease and minimal delay. The following kits are available;
o Personnel Armour Kits (PAK); o Vehicle Armour Kits (VAK); o Portable Object Transport Armour Kits (POTAK); o Structural Armour Kits (SAK), and o Multiple-Use Modular Armour Kits (MUMAK). These products are designed to demanding specifications to ensure they will function properly in the harshest environments, such as conflict zones. Failure of products or services within these types of environments often has results detrimental to the health of the operator or organization which exists in these environments. This requires a sometimes foreign mind-set from conventional product design and requires unique and innovative solutions which must be thoroughly thought out in advance from a security view-point. It is simply not possible to select one armour type, material, or system which will be suitable for, or usable in, all situations. Therefore, the user must identify, classify and rank the most probable, possible, and emergency response situations in which armour may be required to provide effective protection of the targeted assets. Only through a thorough analysis of their characteristics and protection requirements can a suitable armour system be chosen which will provide effective protection in these situations. A number of factors must be taken into consideration when selecting suitable armour for the tasks to be performed and the assets to be protected. Specific and distinct armour kits designed for use by organizations operating in high-risk situations have been created to protect the following main asset classes; o Personnel; o Vehicles; o Structures, and o Portable Objects. In general, a separate armour kit is required to adequately protect each different asset type and its contents. However, there will be many situations in which the user can not accurately identify, in advance; the assets to be protected; the threats, and any other factors which may be present in any given situation. It is also entirely possible that some individuals, or organizations. may be required to be operating in a large variety of situations, threat levels and own/control a variety of assets (with or without similar characteristics and protection/performance requirements) requiring protection at any given time. For this scenario, a generic armour kit which can be used in a large variety of situations and assets is available. Its modular nature allows it to be scaled up and down to protect both small and large assets of various types and construction. |

Communications Kits |
Bastion Security communications kits are designed and assembled to provide reliable and effective communications within and between all levels of those organizations operating in high-risk areas or remote sites. These kits are ideally suited for organizations operating in high-risk or remote sites on a temporary basis and do not wish to deploy a fixed communications system and all the associated support infrastructure or where local supply or the necessary infrastructure and support structure does not exist, or is not reliable. The following communications kits are available;
o Short range: Inter-Team Communication Kits (TCK); o Medium range: Inter-Task Force Communication Kits (TFCK), and o Long-range: Inter-Operation Communication Kits (OCK). |

Direct Support Kits |
Identifying real or potential threats and providing advanced warning of these threats to the asset protection teams is essential to providing effective protection in high-risk situations and remote sites. As the size and scale of the security operation increases, the manpower requirements to effectively observe all sectors within the site and surrounding area increases dramatically. Bastion directsupport kits are designed to assist the protection elements of the security teams and are ideally suited for organizations with a temporary presence in a location, or are operating in areas where it is not suitable to install fixed systems, or quality components are not available in sufficient quantity in the task area. The following support kits are available;
o Surveillance Direct Support Kits (SDSK), and o Alarm Direct Support Kits (ADSK). |

Personnel Armour Kit (PAK) |
The Personnel Armour Kit is designed to protect the critical regions of the human body against ballistic threats up to and including NIJ-0101.04 Level IV (unless otherwise specified). A number of different options are provided to allow the user to select the most suitable configuration based on their unique protection requirements. In an emergency, the various ballistic components can be used to protect other asset types to some degree.
An effective armour system is layered (the underlying theme behind our armour module) and each layer performs a specific task within the concept of effectively protecting critical assets from ballistic threats. There is more to an effective armour system than just the armour. Quick Deployment, storage, transport and image of the armour components must be considered to ensure maximum effectiveness. The various modules have been designed to contain all of the necessary components to perform specific tasks within a ballistic armour system. Unless meeting a specific purchase requirement, such as spare parts, or upgrades to existing armour systems, the module should form the basis of your armour purchase. As stated above, they have been designed to provide the required components to perform a specific task, or be used when operating in fairly specific conditions and situations. The overall armour system must be designed with more than just a threat level in mind. The underlying conditions which exist and merit the use of armour and the consequences of using an armour system must be examined and incorporated into the design process to ensure that it is effective in the widest possible range of scenarios, or instances, in which it may be used. A well designed armour system will also be more resource efficient in both the short and long-term as the user only needs to buy those components, or modules which apply to their particular requirements, but still be upgradeable to meet future needs. |

The Security plan divides and assigns the various actions, policies and responsibilities required to provide effective protection of any number of targets. This approach ensures that all aspects are covered and that no critical detail is omitted when stress and fatigue levels increase significantly. The actual services which are provided by each element of the Security Team are called Service Modules which describe the duties, responsibilities, resources, effort, locations, and timelines required to perform that task and can be expected to be present in most, if not all instances of that task. During any operation, any combination of service modules may be performed consecutively, or concurrently, as required depending on the situation.
Protection Tasks performed by Bastion Security are concerned with the physical protection of assets owned by the client, whether they are located on-site, off-site, or in transit. Of secondary concern are assets not owned by the client, but under its effective control, and assets controlled by external organizations which will have a significant impact on the operations or net worth of the client if threatened. Protection Service Modules are as follows; + Estimate Situation and create Protection Plan(s); + Provide Direct Protection of the Targetted Asset(s); + Provide Indirect Protection of the Targetted Asset(s); + Provide Direct Support of Asset Protection Team(s); + Provide Indirect Support of Asset Protection Team(s), and + React to an Attack (Emergency Response). |

Training Teams are deployed to increase the knowledge and skill of the various elements of the Client's Security Team through Formal Courses and through Informal Seminars which increase the awareness of the client's staff, of security issues which they can expect to encounter, while operating in High-Risk situations, and Remote Sites. An aware, or educated, client dramatically increases the effectiveness of the Security Teams. Training Service Modules are as follows; Formal Training Courses: General Courses: # Theory and Conduct of High-Risk Security Operations; # Theory and Conduct of Security Intelligence Tasks; # Theory and Conduct of Training Tasks; # Leadership. Security Team Specific Courses: Courses are designed for security personnel who will be performing the duties and responsibilities of the various positions within the following Task Forces; * Protection; * Intelligence; * Consulting and * Management. Informal Seminars: Informal seminars are designed primarily to promote security awareness knowledge and skills to clients who are, or will be, operating in high-risk areas, or remote sites, and have no formal security training, or experience. The aim is not to create security professionals, but to give those who may be working/travelling alone, or supported by High-Risk Security Teams, a general understanding of the relationships between the key players involved in any given situation, and common-sense tips on how to identify and then avoid or deter the threats before an attack. Examples of subjects which may be included in any given seminar are; * General Security Precautions; * Target-Threat relationship. (How, what and why targets are chosen by threats, dynamics of an attack, etc.); * Working with High-Risk security teams; * Situational Awareness;, Risk assessment and mitigation; * Defensive Tactics and Practical Skills; * Emergency Response / Evacuation Planning, and * Escape and Evasion. |
