MCG is a 100% Aboriginal owned and managed company, and has provided project management, facilitation, research and writing services since 2007.
Maggie Walsh, owner, is a member of the Millbrook First Nation in Nova Scotia. She has operated a consulting business since 2007 and brings over a decade of experience working with government, non-profit and Aboriginal organizations in the following areas: Strategic planning: Business planning, evaluations, guide and manual development, briefings, reports. Project Management: Managing contracts (negotiating contracts, monitoring, evaluation), program management, event organization, working group secretariat support. Coordination / Facilitation: Working collaboratively with a broad range of people and organizations to jointly realize a project/goals Quality and integrity: Meets deadlines, accountable, results-oriented, focused on quality. Her work goals and passions are both values-based and results-based and include: Contributing to community A collaborative approach creating a process involving shared ownership, investment, responsibility and information. Working Group Coordinator (2009 Present)
Four separate joint federal/provincial/Aboriginal initiatives (currently managing one)
All groups were mandated to find ways to collaborate in order to better deliver Aboriginal programs and services. This involves developing terms of reference, strategic plans, developing and managing project charters and work plans, success measures, facilitating planning sessions, developing briefings and literature reviews.

Policy and Manual development (2008 - 2009)
First Nations / Métis Training to Employment Program, Alberta Employment & Immigration
Manual and Guide Development: Developed a guide to assist community-based staff with limited project management experience to manage the project lifecycle of the program. Involved facilitating an advisory committee, developing the guide format and layout, compiling information, providing narratives and explanations, identifying gaps and developing the information/tools to address these gaps.

Event Organizer and Facilitator (2007 2009)

Youth Symposiums: Organize a series of one-day entrepreneur seminars for Aboriginal high school students across Alberta. This includes acting as chair of the working group, coordinating with schools and school boards, creating promotional materials, work plans and critical paths; managing budgets; arranging for speakers; and handling all logistics to hold the events
Consultations (2007-2008)
The Business Link
Developed and conducted several consultations to provide program recommendations on the following topics: improving program access in rural areas, pilot project validation and direction, and improving existing programming.
Project Evaluation (2007)
Conducted an evaluation of an exporting program. This included a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the program’s performance, surveys and interviews with stakeholders and clients, as well as developing recommendations and policy approaches for future direction. (March April 2007)
