Find out when your measuring device is due for its first mandatory inspection

As of August 1, 2014, measuring devices in the following sectors must now be inspected at regular intervals:

  • Dairy
  • Retail food
  • Retail petroleum
  • Grain and field crops
  • Fishing
  • Forestry
  • Mining
  • Downstream petroleum

Failure to comply with these legal requirements could result in monetary penalties or court-imposed fines of up to $50,000. Frequencies of inspection vary from sector to sector and by type of device, from every year to every five years.

To determine the date your device must first be inspected by, we’ll need to ask you a few questions. The mandatory inspections are being phased in based on several factors such as the type of device, which industry it is used in and its geographical location.

Let's begin.
