Summary

This report describes research undertaken to learn more about the supply of financial literacy
interventions to newcomer populations, gaps in services and key causes of these gaps. Multiple and complimentary methods were employed including 1) a literature review of peer-reviewed articles and other secondary research that addressed issues in design and delivery of financial literacy interventions for newcomers; 2) an environmental scan based in a web search that served to populate a database with current and relevant interventions supplying newcomers to Canada with financial literacy; and 3) key informant interviews that served to fill in gaps in the scan and validate assumptions or patterns found in the research.
