The goods and services manual
Search for goods and services
On August 25, 2014, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) joined TMclass, merging its inventory of goods and services with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). TMclass is an online tool that allows a trade-mark applicant to verify whether a particular term is acceptable by Participating Offices. The database has more than 60,000 entries translated into 28 languages.
CIPO signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Trademark Trilateral Partners, who maintain a list of identifications of goods and services that if entered into an application for the registration of a trade-mark would be accepted by each of these partners.
The assessment of the acceptable trilateral entries to ensure compliance with Canadian legislative requirements is complete and the acceptable terms have been added to CIPO's Goods and Services Manual. Each identification stemming from this agreement will be identified with the letter T and will appear with its associated Nice Classification.
