Canadian Industry Statistics (CIS)
Under this topic you will find the North American Industry Classification System definition of the Private Households (NAICS 814) subsector. You can use this definition to properly identify the segment of the industry you wish to study further in other sections of Canadian Industry Statistics.
This subsector comprises private households engaged in employing workers, on or about the premises, in activities primarily concerned with the operation of the household. These private households may employ individuals such as cooks, maids and butlers, and outside workers, such as gardeners, caretakers and other maintenance workers. The services of individuals providing baby-sitting or nanny services are included.
No exclusions are specified in the 2007 NAICS Canada manual.
