Good afternoon,
The copyright laws in the United States are crippling and beyond the realm of fairness. To have these same laws in Canada is a gross infringement of our rights and freedoms as citizens. If a law like this is passed, what's to stop the Music and Movie industries' attack dogs to try and outlaw DVD Recorders, DVD Players, or even our Television sets? The next step is having the government tell us what to watch, when and where all dictated by the entertainment industries.
It's already come to the point that despite paying our own hard earned money on a piece of software, according to certain companies we are merely renting their property and can only use it on their terms.
Why don't these same people who tell me I don't actually own the things I pay for tell me what to eat, what I get to wear and what colour my hair and eyes should be. Our Grandfathers fought and gave their lives to stop this kind of fascist dictatorship.
