Please accept the following submission:

1. I am an international best-seller of 19 non-fiction books therefore the copyright laws affect the earnings I obtain from selling copies of them. Governments are not paying a fair price for the hundreds of millions of photocopies used in primary and secondary schools as substitutes for buying the books.

2. A fee should be paid every time someone reads or buys copies of books including those who read library books. Publishers and authors who produce books that bring Canadian values and our Canadian heritage into Canadian classrooms should be adequately compensated. This could be a tariff paid per student per year.

3. Electronic books should be fully protected by Canadian and international law so authors/publishers are paid when people read the books.
