Hello

I am a SOCAN member, A musician who published music and i do not agree with bill c-61

I would like to see a more flexible and fair dealings provision that would address many of the current concerns associated with Canadian copyright law. I believe that a sharing music more liberally for example improves exposure and attendance at my shows. I do not find sales of the material to be my main income of my music. Gone are these days.

I also feel that the current term of copyright standing at life of the author plus 50 years is extreme enought and if anything should be shortened. The government should make a clear commitment not to extend it any further.

Finally education and library provisions should be updated, not with a new Internet exception, but rather with rules that facilitate digital library loans, digitization, and distance learning.

Peace of Mind Jacob
