Hello,

I would like to have a very brief input into the debate and say that I am extremely disappointed in the way things are looking. I live in Toronto and was not able to attend the town hall meeting as there were no seats available for me. I have heard from a friend who was able to attend that this was based on a number of pro-copyright people attending and not allowing others to have their voice heard. Now please do not get me wrong and think that I am anti-copyright, I think artists should get money from their recordings, and movie companies should get money from their works, which is why I purchase music and movies.

What I do not think is that we should even think about a \"3 strikes\" law which has been tossed around by a number of sources. This is for a number of reasons, the main one being that it would be too easy to censor the internet based on this by disconnecting people who the \"industry\" did not approve of. Mind you, that is an extreme case situation, but if it happened there would be no turning back as there would be no one left to speak out. The only way you should be able to be disconnected should be by sentence of a judge in a courtroom.

Basically I am saying that we as Canadians need to look out for other Canadian citizens and not for the executives of large companies who try to abuse the artists they pretend to represent.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Alleyne
