I work in Canada's Music industry as Payroll Administrator and I am worried about my job if the government will not take immediate action regarding the copyright reform as today's copyright laws offer so little protection on my livelyhood.
As a taxpayer I'm not asking a lot from the Government, Canada's copyright law needs to be reformed because with mass unauthorized downloading, legitimate sales of digital goods such as music, movies and software have been gravely eroded. When I was hired back in 1999 my employer have around 200 employees, now it's down to 88. The Government's failure to modernize the Copyright Act is costing Canada jobs, and who knows the next one will be mine.
