I am a photographer and musician. Firstly on the photography front: I want the copyright law that is now in place, as it pertains to photographs, to be repealed. Copyright should be automatic like it is in the rest of the world and like it pertains to other art. The moment the work is created by us it belongs to us!  Simple. The copyright should last the life of the artist plus fifty years and a system must be in place that the creators estate can renew that copyright if they so choose to.

As a musician, I want to be adequately compenstated for my creations. I don't care if an individual puts my CD on their iPod or on their computer.

I believe illegal downloading of music should be stopped. Period.

Copyright reform is quite simple: the moment original works are created of any kind of art or intelectual property the copyright is automatic and resides with the creator and only the creator. This is something that should be enacted across the board.

Bill C-61 had the right idea and was the best start in protecting the creators.
