Hello,

As a consumer I do buy digital goods, but only those that let me use those digital goods in a manner of my choosing — this includes converting the digital good into different formats so I can use it on different devices. I don't see that as being much different than taking a paper book I buy and reading it in different locations, be it at my house or in the park.

Also there is concern with the ridiculous judgements against those that pirate digital goods recently handed out in the States. One example includes a person being fined $80,000 per song they made publicly available. People breaking copyright, once copyright laws are made equitable, should be enforced under law but in a reasonable manner. A song costs less than a can of pop, the punishment for stealing them should be roughly equal.

Canada has been a leader in the world in so many areas. Be it health care, multiculturalism, social programs, etc. Why in the case of copyright, which is the 'next big issue' in our digital age does it seem our leaders in government are just following what the US and its stake holders want?
