While I would agree that laws are necessary to protect the intellectual copyright of its creators, this right must be balanced with the rights of the public to access said information. The rights of the citizens of Canada to fair access and freedom of expression trump the rights of industry.

I respectfully ask that you take into consideration the “voices” of the thousands of Canadians who have spoken out on this issue. For each person who takes the time to write a letter, send an email, participate in consultations, there are at least 5 times as many who, while not taking the time to express their opinion, are of the same opinion.

Reform Bill C-61. Do not allow it to pass in its current form. Protect the rights of citizens.
