  • clarifying the rules for the issuance of commissions.

Indication of business impacts:

There are no expected business impacts.

These amendments will only affect the machinery of government and are of an administrative nature. Accordingly, there are no public consultation opportunities planned at this time. Regulatory Initiative: Repeal of the Canada Corporations Regulations

Description of objective:

The Canada Corporations Act and its associated regulations came into force in 1917 to regulate federal not-for-profit corporations. On October 17, 2011, the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act came into force to replace the Canada Corporations Act. Not-for-profit corporations under the old act were required to transition to the new one. It is expected that by fall 2017, no corporations will be under the old act. At that time, steps will be taken to repeal the Canada Corporations Act and its associated regulations.

Indication of business impacts:

There are no expected business impacts.

Public consultation:

There are no public consultation opportunities planned at this time because there will be no corporations subject to the Canada Corporations Act. Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat approval will be sought for an exemption to Canada Gazette, Part 1 pre-publication.
