Objective(s): The Strategic Workshops Program funds workshops for building new collaborations between Canadian academic researchers and the industry and government receptor community.

The program is primarily intended to seed new collaborations in the areas of research targeted by the Strategic Project Grants and the Strategic Network Grants programs, yet does not exclude other fields of research supported by NSERC. SWP is a three-year pilot initiative.

Eligibility: Eligible Criteria:
  • Applicant: principal investigator on an application (i.e., university faculty). You must meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Co-applicant: member of a research team applying for a group grant (i.e., university faculty or college faculty). You must meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Collaborator: you are not eligible to hold NSERC grants, however you, as a government scientist, company staff member or research scientist from another country, can be a member of a research team that is applying for a group grant.
