The Survey on Financing of Small and Medium Enterprises, 2001, was a supplemental survey conducted in the fall of 2002 and surveyed 7500 enterprises. The estimates were generated from the responses of 3850 SMEs (enterprises that had a gross revenue of less than $50 million, had less than 500 full-time-equivalent employees and were operational even for a very short time during the reference year). The in-scope unit rate was 71 percent and the overall survey response rate was 66 percent. Part 2 of the survey questionnaire administered in 2000 was not conducted. (Note: The revised version of the Survey was released in May 2006.)
