The feature article of the August issue highlights some of the findings from a recent paper released by Statistics Canada that investigates whether the job losses that occurred among employer businesses during the recent economic downturn were closely linked with the subsequent increase in self-employment. The issue also includes articles on the economic impact of the Canada Small Business Financing Program, recent trends in job creation, self-employment and the number of business establishments by firm size and region.
