On November 17, 2010, the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), addressed attendees on the closing day of the NTA (National Tour Association) 2010 Convention. The Minister of State underlined that Canada and the US have been presented with a great opportunity, having recently been granted Approved Destination Status by the Chinese government. He also outlined that Canada has much to offer visitors from around the globe and that it was recently chosen as the number one country brand in FutureBrand's 2010 Country Brand Index.
The NTA is a US-based trade organization for professionals serving travellers to, from and within North America. It is the most diverse group of buyers and sellers of any travel industry show, and it includes destination marketing organizations and suppliers from every US state and Canadian province and from more than 40 countries. With a membership consisting of 1500 tour operators, 1500 tour suppliers (hotels, attractions, restaurants, etc.) and 600 destinations, the NTA represents more travel products and business-to-business networking than any other single association.
