Harper Government Announces Major Aerospace Investment to Create Jobs and Keep Canada Cutting-Edge

The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry (left), accompanied by Bob Dechert, Member of Parliament (Mississauga–Erindale) (centre) and John Saabas, President, Pratt & Whitney Canada, announced a $300-million investment through the government's Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative at the company's facility in Mississauga, Ontario on December 13. The funding was part of a $1-billion research and development project at Pratt & Whitney Canada that was hailed as a significant cross-sector partnership in Canadian aerospace.
