Minister Paradis Recognizes Importance of Canadian Coast Guard
Ottawa, January 26, 2012—The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry, made the following statement today:
"As Regional Minister for Quebec, I know the importance of the Canadian Coast Guard's presence in the province of Quebec. From keeping the St. Lawrence waterways open for transport to joining with the Canadian Forces on search and rescue, the Coast Guard plays an important role in our province.
"I would like to recognize the Coast Guard's years of dedicated service on this, its 50th anniversary."
