Canada and Germany Applaud New Research Agreement

Her Excellency Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (right foreground), recently toured Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the company of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), on the occasion of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Halifax Marine Research Institute and the Helmholtz Association of Berlin. The memorandum will formalize a working relationship between the two institutions and lead to greater collaboration between Canadian and German researchers. Dr. Douglas Wallace, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Ocean Science and Technology (back to camera), led the tour of a scientific exhibition at the university.
