R&D Collaboration
CRC participates in a wide variety of collaborative projects with universities and R&D labs in Canada and around the world. We also work with industry partners on collaborative R&D projects. The following are examples of the types of collaborations CRC has undertaken.
CRC has collaborated with universities to:
- Advance the development of cognitive radio networking capabilities and applications;
- Explore, through a global test network, the virtualization of optical network resources for end‑to‑end control;
- Conduct a joint project on network protocols for mobile ad hoc networks; and
- Undertake an investigation of advanced design techniques for reflect‑array antennas.
CRC has collaborated with industry partners and R&D labs to:
- Optimize smartphone antennas;
- Develop Wi‑Fi cognitive radio networks for rural environments;
- Enhance spectrum monitoring for CRC's Spectrum Explorer® licensed software;
- Develop video source coding and compression technology;
- Advance printed electronics;
- Assist in the development of digital TV receiver technology for a new DTV antenna; and
