Eco-efficiency
The essence of eco-efficiency is doing more with less. Put into practice, it is a management approach that increases product or service value, optimizes the use of resources and reduces environmental impact.
Industry Canada maintains an Eco-efficiency website that includes
- an explanation of eco-efficiency;
- case studies for information on the implementation of eco-efficient technologies and practices;
- tools to help businesses start their own eco-efficiency initiative; and
- resources for in-depth information on eco-efficiency and other related subjects.
The site also makes available an Eco-efficiency Learning Module developed by the World Business Council on Sustainable Development.
Further Information
For further information, see the Industry Canada Sustainability and Environment subject section.
Industry Canada's eco-efficiency activities and policies are coordinated through the Policy and Regulatory Affairs directorate in the Strategic Policy Branch.
