Project Description

This project involves construction of a 100,000 square foot building for the Applied Health Institute. The new facility is equipped with classroom and lab space to support Health, Dental, Therapeutic Recreation, Paramedic and Pharmacy Assistant programs.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: The new Applied Health Institute enhances the institution’s capacity to deliver advanced knowledge and skills training in Health and Wellness, and Skilled Trades and Technology programs. The facility allows for consolidation of all Applied Health programs into one training complex, and the addition of nine new programs and 1000 new students in health and wellness studies. The new programs include Occupational Therapist Assistant / Physiotherapist Assistant, Gerontology; Additions Counselling; Mental Health Worker; Elder Care Advocate; Maternal and Child Nursing; Paediatric Nursing; and Oncology-Nephrology Nursing.
