Project Description

This project involves construction of the Centre of Excellence for Trades and Technology and redevelopment of existing campus space. Facilities at the new centre include smart classrooms, meeting rooms and smart labs. It also includes applied research and technology smart labs, student-learning commons and faculty offices.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: The new centre provides space and technology to introduce new programs, including Apprenticeship, Trades and Technology programs; Entrepreneurship; and Transformative Technical programming emphasizing sustainable or “green” technologies. The new programs meet human resource needs of the region and expand access to communities, including the James Bay coast. In addition, the new centre has the ability to deliver advanced knowledge training and education to rural, remote and Aboriginal communities.
