A Success Story — Thoughts From the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design

"NSCAD University’s Cineflux: A Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Emerging Cinema and Media Arts "

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of research and development space: The CineFlux Centre is set to become a premier facility for the testing and creation of new ideas and technologies in cinema. Renovating and upgrading vacant space to create research and technology development facilities ensures the capacity to attract and collaborate with commercial and post-secondary partners. The CineFlux facility provides researchers with specialized labs, collaborative multimedia studios for research and technology development initiatives, technical support areas, and archival space for rare and valuable film collections. Upgrading and extending current data communications networks improve access and performance for research initiatives. The centre is strategically located between five campuses of three universities in the Halifax area, allowing for more interdisciplinary research.
  2. Expands or enhances utility of training space: The CineFlux facility is accessible to students for training purposes.
