Project Description

This project involves renovating the interior and exterior of the McNally building and other campus facilities. Work includes enhancements to laboratories, classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, the library and information technology (IT) infrastructure. The project also includes renewing building envelopes, removing asbestos and replacing the roof.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of research and development space: Renovations benefit 250 researchers and faculty by modernizing graduate training and research space and related faculty infrastructure.
  2. Upgrades health and safety aspects of facilities: Renovations and upgrades reduce safety risks by eliminating existing hazardous materials, including asbestos, and reducing the risk of leaks and mould growth.
  3. Improves energy efficiency: This project is estimated to increase energy efficiency by 18 percent.
