Project Description

This project involves construction of a 30,000 square foot facility on the Perth campus. The new building includes a state-of-the-art student commons, trades workshops and classrooms, and is designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: The new facility enables the college to increase capacity by 20 percent and improves training facilities for three trades programs: Carpentry and Millwork — Heritage, Masonry — Heritage, and Advanced Housing.
  2. Improves energy efficiency: The new facility is designed to utilize the latest environmental materials, appliances and technologies in its construction to meet LEED certification, resulting in improved energy efficiency and fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
  3. Upgrades health and safety aspects of facilities: The new facility is constructed to meet all current health and safety codes and requirements and improve overall health and safety of the campus.
