Project Description
This project involves construction of a new 104,600 square foot building. The new facility has a 52,000 square foot library, including a library instructional classroom, learning centre classroom and training classroom. The facility also accommodates a total of 12 new classrooms, one lecture theatre and administrative offices. The building is designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
Primary Areas of Benefit
- Expands or enhances utility of training space: Relocation of the library to the new building frees up 2,940 square metres of space for classrooms. The library offers the most up-to-date library services available, including convenient and efficient access to print collections and online resources, group and individual study areas, and advanced information and communications technology support.
- Improves energy efficiency: The new facility is designed to utilize the latest environmental materials, appliances and technologies to increase energy efficiency.
