Project Description

This project involves construction of a new 104,600 square foot building. The new facility has a 52,000 square foot library, including a library instructional classroom, learning centre classroom and training classroom. The facility also accommodates a total of 12 new classrooms, one lecture theatre and administrative offices. The building is designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

Primary Areas of Benefit

  1. Expands or enhances utility of training space: Relocation of the library to the new building frees up 2,940 square metres of space for classrooms. The library offers the most up-to-date library services available, including convenient and efficient access to print collections and online resources, group and individual study areas, and advanced information and communications technology support.
  2. Improves energy efficiency: The new facility is designed to utilize the latest environmental materials, appliances and technologies to increase energy efficiency.
