Project Description

This project involves a 75,000 square foot expansion to the E-Wing of the School of Health and Life Sciences building at Conestoga College. In addition to the expansion, the current building facade, atrium and adjoining classrooms (25,000 square feet) are undergoing renovations to create a dedicated space for advanced health skills training. The new state-of-the-art facility includes next-generation simulation and distributed learning technologies.

Primary Areas of Benefit

Expands or enhances utility of training space: Renovations and expansion enable the institution to increase enrolment by 1,400 full-time students in Health and Life Sciences programs and offer 18 new programs, including Public Health, Electronic Medical Records Management, Pharmacy Technician, Optometry Technician and pathways for internationally educated professionals to gain accreditation and employment. The new facilities significantly enhance health informatics programming, double the number of nurses graduating from Conestoga, and advance collaborative training models with the University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University and McMaster University.
  2. Improves energy efficiency: The expansion is designed to utilize the latest environmental materials/technologies to help reduce energy consumption.
