Project Description
This project involves construction of a 75,000 square foot building. The new building creates 20 new classrooms, four labs and office space. The facility is designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
Primary Areas of Benefit
- Expands or enhances utility of training space: This project enables the institution to increase enrolment by 1,100 students and hire approximately 35 faculty and support staff. The new facility improves training space for various programs in Business and Technology. The additional space enables the college to expand current programs in Financial Services, Accounting and Finance, Fashion and Merchandising, Management and Administrative Studies, Fire Protection, Civil Engineering Technology, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, and English and Liberal Studies.
- Improves energy efficiency: Renovations are designed to utilize the latest environmental materials, appliances and technologies to meet LEED certification, resulting in improved energy efficiency and fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
