Project Description
This project involves constructing the 49,000 square foot Saskatchewan Energy Training Institute, Estevan facility to provide multiple classrooms with the latest technology for on-site and distance learning, labs for research and on-site analysis. It also provides a large industrial shop for indoor hands on training.
Primary Areas of Benefit
- Expands or enhances utility of training space: The renovated institute accommodates a 35 % increase in enrolment and focuses on addressing skills shortages in the energy sector (oil, gas and mining). It enhances training in mining exploration techniques and optimization of commodities extraction, while serving as a site for skills validation for workers in the energy sector.
