Project Description
This project involves transforming current science labs into one integrated sciences lab equipped for chemistry, physics, biology, geography and related courses that meet the requirements of the health-care sector. Renovations include upgrades to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems; the elevator; and stairways, doors, washrooms, interior and exterior walls, ceilings, floors and windows.
Primary Areas of Benefit
- Expands or enhances utility of training space: The renovated science labs and upgraded facility accommodate the anticipated increase in enrolment and additional 83 faculty and administrative and support staff.
- Improves energy efficiency: Installation of high-efficiency windows, doors and a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system reduces energy costs by 45 percent. In addition, upgraded washrooms and laboratories decrease water usage by 47 percent.
